About Your Practitioner

Keychun Song is a doctor of acupuncture, Oriental medicine, traditional herbal medicine, and Qi Gong healing and meditation.  He is a Diplomat of Acupuncture certified by the NCCAOM.  It is a considerable professional achievement to earn this designation.  This certification indicates that he has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the Acupuncture and Oriental medicine profession.  He has been practicing acupuncture for over 40 years.

He is also a 9th degree black belt in traditional Chinese Kung Fu in Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.  He has over 50 years of martial arts experience.

Grandmaster Song was born in 1945 in Seoul, Korea and spent most of his early life in the South Korean capital.  Growing up in the tumultuous post WWII and Korean War era, young Song was confronted with many societal challenges.  His grandfathers introduced him to Qi Gong meditation and the healing arts of herbal medicine and acupuncture.  While growing up malnourished in post war Korea, it was his grandfather's daily herbal teas that strengthened his body and helped him get through a difficult early childhood.  His grandfather was not only a doctor of herbal medicine and teacher of meditation, but also a founder of the Korean Christian Church.  He learned many things about herbal medicine and acupuncture from his father and grandfather.  He continued his training in the healing arts in Seoul, Korea at Kyung Hee University, and later, in the U.S. at South Baylor University.  In the 1970's he continued to develop his skill and ability as a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

He is a licensed pharmacist with the Seoul, Korea Pharmaceutical Association, and an acupuncturist and doctor of traditional Oriental medicine in the U.S.  He is licensed to practice in Illinois and Florida.  He currently owns two acupuncture clinics:  one in Champaign, Illinois and the other in Chicago, Illinois.  Having treated hundreds of patients with dozens of distinct health care issues, he has the knowledge and expertise to help you with almost any problem you may be having.
